The Prosecutor’s Office shares information and photos relating to missing members of our community on our social media platforms, @UCPONJ on twitter and UCPONJ on LinkedIn. Along with the missing persons’ particulars will be contact information for the law enforcement agencies connected to the individual. Our hope in reintroducing these materials is that the community will share the information, generating new leads. These leads can then be forwarded to law enforcement for investigation, hopefully aiding in the location of the missing individual.
It is important to remember that these missing persons are not just someone’s family or friend, they are valued members of our community in Union County. Even if you are not personally connected to one of the missing, every share and retweet brings us one step closer to reaching someone who may know something.
Undertaking this initiative is especially important to the family and friends of the missing, because it lets them know that their loved ones have not been forgotten by law enforcement and members of the community.

A woman’s body was found in Elizabeth earlier this week, and investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in determining her identity and the circumstances behind her death, acting Union County Prosecutor Lyndsay V. Ruotolo and Elizabeth Police Department Deputy Chief Giacomo Sacca and Director Earl Graves jointly announced Saturday.
The deceased was found on Thursday afternoon along railroad tracks off of the 300 block of Port Avenue in Elizabeth. The scene was secured and processed by members of the Union County Homicide Task Force, assisted by members of the New Jersey State Police Crime Scene Unit, Union County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit, and Elizabeth Police Department.
The deceased is a possibly black or Hispanic woman in her late 20s to early 30s, standing about 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-6, with no distinguishing marks or tattoos on her body.
