The Union County Homicide Task Force arrested a man yesterday afternoon in connection with a homicide that occurred in the city of Rahway last week, announced Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow.
Miguel M. Floyd DOB: 4/28/1985 was arrested and charged in the shooting death of Pierrelious Betchly, 40, who was discovered at a Wilson Avenue residence just after 5 a.m. on February 21, 2011.
Betchly was transported to University Hospital where he died from his injuries around 2:50p.m. on Monday, said Romankow.
Floyd was arrested on Monday afternoon around 4p.m. following an investigation by the Homicide Task Force and the Rahway Police Department and he is currently being held at the Union County Jail on $500,000 bail.
These criminal charges are mere accusations. The defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
