Elizabeth Men Convicted for Aggravated Assault

Two Elizabeth, N.J. men were convicted yesterday in Superior Court on charges 2nd and 3rd Degree Aggravated Assault stemming from a 2009 assault on a motorist, said Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow.

Eric James DOB: 6/8/1962 and Reginald Felton DOB: 12/6/1970 face up to ten years in prison when they are sentenced on November 4, 2011 said Assistant Prosecutor Peter L. Benza who prosecuted the case.

According to the investigation James and Felton assaulted a motorist while his car was stopped at the corner of William and Spring Streets in Elizabeth around 3:30 a.m. on June 19th, 2009, said Benza. James and Felton were attempting to pull the motorist from the car while beating him with a wooden table leg, said Benza.

Police quickly arrived on the scene where the observed James and Felton beating the victim. James and Felton fled the scene and were arrested together a few minutes later when they were found hiding in an abandoned house adjacent to the crime scene.
