Plainfield Gang Member Charged in 2010 Homicide

The Union County Homicide Task Force has arrested and charged a member of the Bloods sex-money-murder sect in the June 16, 2010 homicide of a Plainfield teenager, said Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow.

Jaalil Spruiel,25, aka “bow wow”, of Plainfield was transported from a state prison yesterday to Elizabeth where he was charged with the murder of Tyrell Brighton,18, said Romankow. The incident occurred on June 16, 2010 near the 400 block of Plainfield Ave. The victim was shot numerous times while standing in the area of Plainfield Ave and West 4th St.

Spruiel’s bail was set at $1 million and he was returned to State Prison awaiting trial.

These criminal charges are mere accusations. The defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
