Elizabeth Man Charged in Wife’s Murder

Late on Friday the Union County Homicide arrested and charged an Elizabeth man in the homicide of his wife, announced Union County First Assistant Prosecutor Albert Cernadas, Jr.

Earlier in the day the Task Force was contacted by the Elizabeth Police Department advising of a deceased female in the vestibule area of Apt. 2I, at 220 Parker Road The deceased was identified as Thya Wilson, DOB: 10/03/1966, said Cernadas. A search warrant was obtained for the apartment and for Ms. Wilson’s vehicle that was located outside the building complex. Numerous statements were obtained by the Task Force and evidence was gathered and examined. Cernadas said that the investigation revealed that Ms. Wilson was killed inside her apartment and later moved to the vestibule. An autopsy revealed that Ms. Wilson had been deceased for several days.

Based on the investigation, Ms. Wilson’s husband, Reco Parks, was arrested and charged with 1st Degree Murder, said Cernadas. Judge Scott Moynihan set bail at $1.5 million and Mr Parks is being held at the Union County Jail.

This was the first homicide in Union County for 2012.

These charges are mere accusations. The defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
