Rahway Man Found Guilty of Armed Robbery

Note: Hodges was sentenced to 20 years in State Prison on October 26, 2012

A Rahway man was convicted earlier today on two counts of 1st Degree Armed Robbery and related weapon charges, announced Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow.

Wayne Hodges DOB: 12/25/1991 faces up to 40 years in prison when he is sentenced in October, said Assistant Prosecutor Brent A. Bramnick who prosecuted the case.

According to the investigation Hodges approached two victims near Rahway High School on October 16, 2010, brandished a weapon, demanded money and personal items from the victims, and fled the scene, said Bramnick. Police were notified the following day and following an investigation by Det. Shawn Ganley of the Rahway Police Department, Hodges was identified as the suspect and was arrested several says later.

A jury convicted Hodges following a three week trial and two days of deliberations.
