Task Force Investigating Two Separate Plainfield Homicides

The Union County Homicide Task Force is investigating two separate homicides that occurred in the city of Plainfield on Sunday, announced Union County First Assistant Prosecutor Albert Cernadas, Jr.

The first homicide was reported around 4p.m. on November 12, 2012 at a Martine Ave address. A woman who lives at the house was found dead of an apparent gun shot wound. A second individual was found unconscious in a detached garage and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. A suspect in the case has been identified, is in custody, and charges are pending.

Then, at 5:27 p.m. a shooting was reported at 42 Randolph Rd, Plainfield. When emergency workers arrived they discovered 19-year-old Keston Alleyne suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead at 6:13p.m. Investigators collected evidence from the scene and are working with the Plainfield Police Division, Union County Sheriff’s Department, and other agencies. No arrests had been made as of Monday morning.

The two homicides do not appear to be related, said Cernadas, and the investigations are continuing. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
