The Union County Homicide Task Force and the Plainfield Police Division are jointly investigating the Tuesday night shooting death of a Plainfield man, acting Union County Prosecutor Grace H. Park announced Wednesday.
The victim, 21-year-old Dawud Hicks, was pronounced dead at approximately 9:30 p.m. Tuesday at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
It was about 30 minutes earlier that police rushed to the 300 block of Manson Place in Plainfield’s West End to find Hicks. The investigation determined that shots were fired in the area of Monroe Avenue and West Third Street moments before the victim was shot outside a residence on Manson Place.
As of early Wednesday no arrests had been made, nor had a suspect been named. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
