The fatal shooting of a Plainfield woman is under investigation, acting Union County Prosecutor Grace H. Park announced Thursday.
The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Neelega Perry.
Plainfield Police Division patrol units responding to a report of a body in the rear yard of a home on the 400 block of Spruce Street in Plainfield shortly after midnight Thursday found Perry, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
This matter remains under active joint investigation by the Union County Homicide Task Force, Plainfield Police Division, and Union County Sheriff’s Office Identification Unit.
