Investigators seeking information about woman found dead in Elizabeth

A woman’s body was found in Elizabeth earlier this week, and investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in determining her identity and the circumstances behind her death, acting Union County Prosecutor Lyndsay V. Ruotolo and Elizabeth Police Department Deputy Chief Giacomo Sacca and Director Earl Graves jointly announced Saturday.

The deceased was found the afternoon of Thursday, June 11 along railroad tracks off of the 300 block of Port Avenue in Elizabeth. The scene was secured and processed by members of the Union County Homicide Task Force, assisted by members of the New Jersey State Police Crime Scene Unit, Union County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit, and Elizabeth Police Department.

The deceased is a possibly black or Hispanic woman in her late 20s to early 30s, standing about 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-6, weighing approximately 110 pounds, with no distinguishing marks or tattoos on her body.
