A fatal shooting that took place in Plainfield yesterday is under investigation, Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel and Plainfield Police Department Officer–in-Charge Captain David M. Guarino jointly announced Thursday.
The deceased victim has been identified as 36-year-old Jamar S. Harris of Newark, a delivery truck driver who was working at the time.
Members of the Plainfield Police Department responded to the 200 block of Garfield Ave shortly after 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday and found Harris at that location. Harris had sustained fatal injury from a gunshot wound, according to the preliminary investigation.
The investigation is being led by the Union County Homicide Task Force and assisted by members of the Plainfield Police Department, Union County Police Department Ballistics Unit, and Union County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit.
