This requires partnership between the&nbsp;government, law enforcement, community groups, and you \u2013 those who use our roads every day.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:43px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background tw-shadow\" style=\"background-color:#ffffff\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container wp-elements-89d6967a8fc930d1d5c7125219ee11d3\" style=\"color:#760f20\"><strong>The Planning Process<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the fall of 2024, the Union County Department of Engineering began identifying key partners, collecting data, and educating the public about the Safe Streets for All Action Plan.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:43px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background tw-shadow\" style=\"background-color:#ffffff\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading has-subtle-background-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-b0b95a89ecea178cf5c10a59ea9820c5\" style=\"color:#760f20\"><strong>Key Objectives of the SS4A Action Plan<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-style-tw-checkmark\">\n<li>Identify the high crash-risk locations and key safety concerns within the County.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure equitable investments in the safety needs of underserved communities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Organize a robust public and stakeholder engagement process focused on inclusivity, community representation, and feedback.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop safety strategies and countermeasures using the Safe Systems Approach.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:43px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background tw-shadow\" style=\"background-color:#ffffff\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading has-subtle-background-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-bd8b9e59860dddc52dd631d69edd8e44\" style=\"color:#760f20\"><strong>Action Plan Advisory Committee<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An Action Plan Advisory Committee (APAC) was created to support the project team and ensure the collaboration of County departments, municipal governments, regional agencies, and community groups to help develop a vision for the Safe Streets for All Action Plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The APAC will meet four (4) times throughout the planning process, offering background documentation, insights into local conditions, and feedback on draft strategy recommendations.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns alignwide tw-cols-card tw-cols-card-shadow is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-7387b849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading has-subtle-background-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-bf6e97835a23100692b0d435fe47f5fa\" style=\"color:#760f20\"><strong>Funding<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Union County was awarded a Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) planning grant by the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) to develop a SS4A Action Plan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Union County, along with the City of Elizabeth and other municipal partners, will develop a holistic, well-defined strategy to prevent roadway fatalities and serious injuries within the county and mitigate roadway safety risks for all residents.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained
