(Sheriff\u2019s Labor Assistance Program) program became operational.\u00a0 Fully supported by the judiciary, this program is an alternative to incarceration for persons sentenced by Municipal or Superior Court Judges. It is essentially a public work program supervised by the Union County Sheriff\u2019s Office S.L.A.P. Division.\u00a0 Participants are closely screened and must meet rigid eligibility requirements.<\/p>\n<p>S.L.A.P. officers have supervised details in all 21 municipalities in Union County, saving the governing bodies and citizens in these towns thousands of dollars in maintenance costs.
