Don&#8217;t become a victim this filing season<\/p>\n<p>If you believe you have been a victim of an IRS Impersonation Scam, contact the IRS Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA).<\/p>\n<p>If you get a call from someone claiming to be with the IRS asking for a payment, here&#8217;s what to do:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>If you owe Federal taxes, or think you might owe taxes, hang up and call the IRS at\u00a0<a href=\"tel:800-829-1040\">800-829-1040<\/a>. IRS workers can help you with your payment questions.<\/li>\n<li>If you do not owe taxes, fill out the &#8220;IRS Impersonation scam&#8221; form on TIGTA&#8217;s website,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tigta.gov\/\">www.tigta.gov<\/a>, or call TIGTA at\u00a0<a href=\"tel:800-366-4484\">800-366-4484<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ftc.gov\/\">www.FTC.gov<\/a>.
