The contractor is wrapping up final details to this project including the paving of the path and seeding new grass. The target date for reopening is on or about May 6, 2024.

Walking Path Closed in Lenape Park - Kenilworth

Please be advised that the walking path in Lenape Park from Lafayette Ave to Kenilworth Boulevard in Kenilworth will be closed for construction on or about Monday, November 13, 2023. The work being performed will consist of repaving the path, grinding existing tree stumps, stripping, topsoiling, and seeding the embankment.

Due to the nature of the work involved, the amount of workers and machinery required, full 24/7 closure of the path will be necessary in the area of work to optimize the safety of park patrons.

The work is expected to take approximately 2 weeks, weather permitting. The County apologizes for any inconvenience while we strive to improve Nomahegan Park.
