NOTICE OF ROAD CONSTRUCTION

Please be advised that the Passaic St Bridge from River Rd, Chatham to Commonwealth Ave in New Providence will be closed for construction on or about Saturday, August 1, 2020. The nature of the work will be the remediation of the bridge which will include replacing the bridge deck. Due to the nature of the project, the roadway will be fully closed to vehicle. Passage through the work zone will be made for pedestrian traffic. The work is scheduled to take 12 months to complete.

A detour around the closure for vehicular traffic will be posted and maintained by the contractor for the duration of the project. All Emergency Responders will need to plan alternate routes. The County recognizes the inconvenience that any road construction may cause and apologizes for any difficulties encountered. The County shall make every effort to have the work completed as soon as possible.
