The Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) is a fantastic opportunity for low-income Union County residents aged 60 or older to receive valuable assistance in the form of e-benefits.
Participants in the program are provided with $40.00 in e-benefits that can be utilized for purchasing fresh, locally grown produce from USDA approved farmers markets in New Jersey.
This initiative aims to promote healthy eating habits among seniors while also supporting local farmers and the vibrant agricultural community.

To participate in the program, it is essential to meet the eligibility criteria, which include specific income and residency requirements.
Income
Your monthly household income must be at or below:
- Individuals: $2,461
- Couple: $3,337
- Based on 2025 Income
- 2026 Income Guidelines
Documentation
To qualify, you must bring one document from each category for verification
- Age Verification: Birth Certificate or Valid ID (Birth Date)
- Residency Verification: Valid ID (current address) or Utility Bill
- Income Verification: 2025 Income Tax return, Social Security statement, SNAP ID or Medicaid ID

- Limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Benefits will be distributed at participating centers around Union County. Dates and locations are expected to be posted on this page in May, 2026.

May 2026 Farmers Market Dates
The Union County Board of County Commissioners and the Department of Human Services invite Union County residents aged 60 and older to apply for the 2026 Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program.
The Division on Aging will begin distributing vouchers on the following dates and locations in June:
- June 5th – Summit Community Center 9am to Noon – 100 Morris Ave
- June 11th – Westfield Community Center 9am to Noon – 558 W. Broad St
