Mental and Behavioral Health
Treatments and services to help individuals improve their emotional, psychological, and social well-being
Mental & Behavioral Health Services
Mental and behavioral health services are essential resources for individuals struggling with mental health issues, substance abuse, or behavioral disorders. These services encompass a wide range of treatments and support systems designed to help individuals improve their emotional, psychological, and social well-being.
The Department of Human Services partners with many of the county’s community based organizations and accredited institutions of health such as the Mental Health Association in New Jersey, Inc., Trinitas Regional Medical Center, Overlook Hospital, and RWJ University Hospital in Rahway. Mental health services can be provided by mental health professionals such as psychologists, psychiatrists, therapists, and social workers, and may include counseling, medication management, behavioral therapy, and support groups.
These services play a crucial role in helping people overcome mental health challenges and lead fulfilling lives.
