Regular Searches Deposit Account Review and Changes to Searcher Deposit Accounts and Copy Access
Please be advised that the Union County Surrogate’s Court has implemented a new self-service system that allows title searchers to print plain copies of court records using an on-site kiosk. Copy cards for kiosk use may be purchased in the Records Room. The kiosk accepts cash only, and the current fee is $0.25 per page. Effective immediately, Searcher Deposit Accounts may be used only for record searches conducted by Surrogate’s Court staff. Applicable fees are as follows:
- Search Fee: $10.00 per estate
- Plain copies prepared by Staff: $3.00 per page
If you have an existing Searcher Deposit Account, please indicate whether you wish to maintain it or close the account and request a refund of any remaining balance. To proceed, contact Marta Krypel at the Union County Surrogate’s Court:

Unclaimed balances will be turned over to the New Jersey Unclaimed Property Administration in accordance with N.J.S.A. 46:30B-1 et seq.

Wedding Services Now Available
Union County Surrogate Christopher Hudak is proud to announce the Surrogate’s Court will begin to offer monthly wedding ceremony services for Union County residents.
Beginning June 2025, couples may schedule, at no charge, a wedding ceremony officiated by Surrogate Christopher Hudak. Ceremonies will be conducted at the Warinanco Sports Center in Warinanco Park, Roselle.

Surrogate Office Expands Reach with New Westfield Office
Union County Surrogate Christopher Hudak is proud to announce that the new Surrogate’s Court Office in Westfield for probate and administration services is now open. This expansion is part of the Surrogate Hudak’s 2024 initiatives, aimed at enhancing accessibility for Union County residents.
