Alcohol & Substance Misuse Services

Alcohol and substance misuse are serious public health concerns that affect individuals and families across Union County. These disorders can have a significant impact on an individual’s physical, emotional, and social well-being, and can even lead to life-threatening consequences. Fortunately, there are various services and treatments available to help individuals struggling with alcohol and substance misuse.

These services are designed to address the complex needs of individuals, including medical detoxification, counseling, medication management, and support groups. Seeking help for alcohol and substance misuse is the first step towards recovery and can lead to a healthier, more fulfilling life.

Department of Human Services staff consult with local experts to develop localized guides which provide a wide array of treatment services and other resources. They also lead or participate in planning committees that are charged with helping guide the development of programs in the area to make sure that the services provided are align with the needs of the local community.

County Comprehensive Plan (CCP) for Alcohol and Substance Misuse Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery Support

The County Comprehensive Plan for Alcohol and Substance Misuse Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery Support is a comprehensive strategy designed to address the impact of alcohol and substance misuse disorders in the community. The plan is a collaborative effort between local government, community organizations, and healthcare providers to develop and implement evidence-based prevention, treatment, and recovery support services.

The goal of the plan is to reduce the incidence and prevalence of alcohol and substance misuse by providing accessible, affordable, and effective services to individuals and families in need. The comprehensive plan includes a range of services, including prevention education, early intervention, treatment, and aftercare support services. By working together, the community can ensure that individuals struggling with alcohol and substance misuse receive the care and support they need to achieve long-term recovery and improve their overall quality of life.
