Branding Rules
Please Note
You are required to brand your public documents top and bottom. Please refer to this document as an example.
Top of Graphic
If this is a county event or announcement it must say: “The Union County Board of County Commissioners” (please note it is treated as a singular entity, not plural, for grammar purposes).
Followed by a phrase like “presents” or “proudly announces” that fits your context on the next line underneath it.
Bottom of Graphic
Must include the appropriate logo from below even for non-County events where the County is a sponsor or grant funder, include a County logo, as well as any partner logo(s).
Examples of Generic Branding
Branding (from the “Countywide Standard” section; they do not include departments or divisions):
- “Brought to You by the Union County Board of County Commissioners”
- “Funded by the Union County Board of County Commissioners”
Guidelines on Logo Use
Event or initiative advertised by a single department via graphic, flyer, banner, etc:
Generic Commissioner “brought to you by” or “brought to you by” that includes Commissioners and department/division.
Physical Merchandise Type Items
(e.g. event t-shirts for staff or guests, giveaways like notepads, etc.)
Either “Brought to you by” logo; either generic Commissioner variant or dept/division variant
Grant administered by the County
“Funded by” generic logo
Sponsorship of external partner event through the Clerk of the Board’s office (e.g. monetary, equipment donation, etc.)
“Funded by” generic logo
Special cases such as logos for physical locations
(e.g. Warinanco Sports Center, Trailside, etc.) must be approved by the Director of the Office of Public Information.
**This does not affect official County letterhead, which has its standard format and will not change.**
Constitutional Offices
Offices like the Union County Clerk, County Surrogate, Sheriff, and Prosecutor maintain their own brands.
If partnering with these offices, include their logo and mention them in the header
