Activate Your New Families First EBT Chip/Tap Card
Your old EBT card will NOT work after October 20!
- Activate your new card right away to keep using your SNAP/WFNJ benefits.
- Your existing benefits will automatically transfer to your new card when you activate it.
Activate Your Card
You can activate your new Families First EBT card using any of these three methods:
- Online: Visit NJFamiliesFirst.gov.
- Mobile App: Use the ConnectEBT app.
- By Phone: Call 1-800-997-3333.
Look for Your New Card!
- Your new chip/tap card will arrive in a plain white envelope with a Kentucky return address.
- Please look for this envelope and do not throw it away.

EBT Card Replacements
As directed by the State of New Jersey, effective immediately, all EBT card replacement requests must be made directly through the State of New Jersey.
Replacement Cards will be Mailed
- Replacement EBT cards will be mailed by the State of New Jersey to the address on record.
Please Allow Up to 20 Days
- If your mailing address is listed as our agency’s address, your replacement EBT card will be mailed to our agency and may take up to 20 days to arrive.
- Thank you for your patience and understanding as New Jersey transitions to the new EBT chip cards.
