For the convenience of the voters, the Office of the Commissioner of Registration located at 271 North Broad Street, Elizabeth, NJ will be open on November 16, 2021 from 8:00am until 9:00pm.

Anyone wishing to register by mail can do so by requesting mail registration forms from the Commissioner of Registration located at 271 North Broad Street, Elizabeth, NJ 07208 or by calling 908-527-4123 or by email ucboe@ucnj.org.
REGISTRATION BY THE INTERNET
You may obtain a voter registration application and instructions from the State of New Jersey Division of Elections website at www.state.nj.us/lps/elections or from the Union County Votes Website at www.unioncountyvotes.com. Public Notice Regarding the Appointment of Challengers
Candidates for the December 7, 2021 Hillside Run Off Election desiring to appoint challengers, must submit names, addresses and assigned districts of their challenger in writing to the Union County Board of Elections, 271 North Broad Street, Elizabeth, New Jersey 07208, no later than Tuesday, November 23, 2021. Two challengers from each district are permitted by law. All appointed challengers must be registered to vote in Union County. Challenger Permits are non-transferable. PUBLIC NOTICE REGARDING ASSISTANCE FOR PERSONS WITH DISABLIITIES
Persons unable to vote at the polling place due to a permanent or temporary physical disability may request a mail-in ballot application by telephoning the Office of the County Clerk at 908-527-4996. The Union County Board of Elections may be contacted for information regarding polling place assignments and assistance to voters who chose to vote at the polling place on Election Day. PUBLIC NOTICE TO ALL REGISTERED VOTERS OF HILLSIDE, NJ
Pursuant to NJSA 19:12-9, you are hereby advised of the following procedure to be used for the November 7, 2021 Hillside Run Off Election:
(1)that any person attempting to vote may be challenged by a duly authorized challenger for a political party or a candidate or on a public question, or by a member of the district board of elections, because the voter’s name appears on a challenge list prepared by the superintendent of elections of the county or because the challenger or board member has good cause to believe that the voter is not entitled to vote;
(2) that members of the district board and all duly authorized challengers are prohibited from challenging, delaying or preventing the right to vote of any person because of that person’s race, color, national origin, expected manner of casting a vote or residence in a particular ward, housing complex or section of a municipality or county;
(3) the means by which any person who is challenged because that person’s name appears on a challenge list prepared by the superintendent of elections of the county may seek to establish the person’s right to vote, as provided in R.S.19:32-18;
(4) the means by which any person whose name does not appear on a challenge list prepared by the superintendent of elections of the county but who is challenged by a duly authorized challenger or by a member of the district board of elections may seek to establish the person’s right to vote, as provided in section 2 of P.L.1991, c.249 (C.19:15-18.1);
(5) that any challenger who succeeds in denying a voter the right to vote must sign an affidavit stating the reason why the voter is not entitled to vote and must furnish a copy of the affidavit to the challenged voter, as provided in section 3 of P.L.1991, c.249 (C.19:15-18.2);
(6) the legal remedy which any person whose name does not appear on a challenge list prepared by the superintendent but who is challenged by a duly authorized challenger or by a member of the district board of elections and denied the right to vote may use to seek permission to vote, as provided in section 6 of P.L.1991, c.249 (C.19:15-18.3);
(7) that forms to register complaints about the conduct of an election shall be available at each polling place in the county.

Public Notice Regarding the December 7, 2021 Hillside Runoff Election
A Hillside Run Off Election will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 between the hours of 6:00am and 8:00pm. For polling place information, contact the Union County Board of Elections at 908-527-4123, your municipal clerk’s office or visit the New Jersey Division of Elections website at https://voter.njsvrs.com/elections/polling-lookup.html.

Important Information for Voters Regarding Election Day
A voter who, prior to the election, shall have moved within the same county without:
- filing, on or before the 21st day preceding the election, a notice of change of residence with the commissioner of registration of the county or the municipal clerk of the municipality in which the voter resides on the day of the election;
- returning the confirmation notice sent to the voter by the commissioner of registration of the county, if such a notice has been sent to the voter; or
- otherwise notifying the commissioner of registration of the voter’s change of address within the county
shall be permitted to correct the voter’s registration and to vote in the election by provisional ballot at the polling place of the district in which the voter resides on the day of the election.

PUBLIC NOTICE REGARDING THE INSPECTION OF MAIL-IN BALLOTS
Notice is hereby given that the Union County Board of Elections will have Mail-In Ballots for the Hillside Run Off Election held on December 7, 2021 available for review by authorized challengers only at 271 North Broad Street, Elizabeth, NJ 07208 on Friday, December 3, 2021 from 9am – 11am.
If you wish to review specific ballots, please contact the Union County Board of Elections at 908-527-4123 at least 24 hours prior to the date listed above. Each challenged ballot will require the completion of a challenge form. The hearing on Mail-In Ballot challenges will occur at the Board Meeting on December 7, 2021. Should you wish to appoint challengers for this election, please submit your list no later than November 23, 2021. Ballots received after December 3, 2021 can be challenged and voted on Election Day, December 7, 2021.

On Tuesday, November 30, 2021 between the hours of 8:00am and 10:00am, the voting machines to be used in the Hillside Run Off Election held on December 7, 2021 will be available for public inspection. Pursuant to N.J.S.A 19:53(a)-8, notice is hereby given that on Friday, December 3, 2021 at 10:00am, a test of the automatic tabulating equipment shall be conducted at the Office of the Union County Board of Elections, 271 North Broad Street, Elizabeth, NJ 07208. This tabulation equipment will be used for the tabulation of the Mail-In Ballots and Provisional Ballots cast in the General Election
