About the Union County Senior Café Program

The Senior Café offers a welcoming and social environment where seniors can connect with their peers, enjoy a nutritious meal, and participate in a range of engaging activities. With locations throughout the county, there’s sure to be a Senior Café near you, making it easy to access this valuable resource.

Whether you’re looking to meet new people, stay healthy and active, or simply enjoy a hot meal, the Senior Café is a program that’s tailored to meet the needs of older adults in Union County.

The Union County Senior Nutrition Program is made possible by a grant from the US Department of Health and Human Services under the Older Americans Act.

Union County has a Senior Café near you offering a healthy, delicious lunch for adults ages 60 and older. Spouses are welcome too!

Senior Café is part of Union County’s Congregate Lunch Program. These programs are designed to maximize independence and dignity of seniors. The program has four goals:

• Health maintenance through improved nutrition
• Fostering social interaction
• Providing access to other supportive services
• Satisfying emotional needs, especially for those who eat alone

There are no income guidelines to participate; however, each participant will have the opportunity to make a confidential suggested voluntary donation of $1.75 per meal. No one is ever denied a meal based on their inability to pay. Donations are used to offset the cost of the meals and to expand the program.

Ready to Visit?

Here are a few items to keep in mind:

• Reservations are required. Please call the location of your choice at least two days in advance of your desired date.
• Lunch is served Monday through Friday (unless otherwise noted, please check the list of participating locations below for more details).
• Donations are voluntary and confidential. You will not be denied service if you are not able to donate.
• Monthly Menus are available to review but items are subject to change. However, each meal is nutritionally balanced to meet the dietary needs of active adults.
