This 24 hour course is designed to provide the student with the knowledge and skills to properly and safely operate a fire pump at an emergency incident. This course will help the student meet the requirements on NFPA 1002 Standard for Apparatus Driver/Operator Professional Qualification 2017 edition.
Classroom topics will include; Pump Operators Duties and Responsibilities, Pump Principles and Construction, Pump Peripherals, Water Supply, Drafting, Pump Operations, Discharge Maintenance and Trouble-shooting, Hydraulic Theory and Principles, Flow and Friction Loss, and Pump Discharge Pressure Calculations. The student will also receive hands-on training by operating a fire pump during numerous practical exercises.

This 8-hour course is required for anyone wishing to obtain or renew a Drill Ground Instructor Certification issued by the Division of Fire Safety.
The intent of this course is to ensure that instructors understand the safety issues and adopted NFPA Standards inherent in SCBA/Smokehouse and Live Burn firefighting training. Instructors must be capable of demonstrating the proper methods of identifying and correcting an unsafe situation as it occurs.
This course is required for those fire service instructors that wish to teach specified modules in the Firefighter I course in the State of New Jersey. This course will provide .5 Instructor CEU’s.

This 48-hour course is designed to build the skills necessary to be an effective fire service leader. It is the first level in the series of programs required to receive Fire Officer 1 certification and is designed to meet the education and time requirements of N.F.P.A 1021, Standard for Fire Officer Professional Qualifications, 3rd Edition, for Fire Officer 1 and N.J.A.C. 5:73-8.2 qualifications for Fire Officer 1.
Course content will include a mixture of lectures, case studies, and classroom exercises designed to acquaint the student with the role of the company officer in a fire department and introduce basic management and leadership theories, practices, and functions.
Topics covered include firefighter health and safety, managing resources, planning and readiness, fire prevention, building construction, and risk management. This class will meet every day for six consecutive days.

This course is an incident-specific, scene oriented course that will cover topics including the role of the Incident Safety Officer; standards, policies and regulations; record keeping and documentation; risk management; and incident considerations.
The intended audience for this course is Staff and Chief Officers, Line Officers, and Firefighters with command responsibilities.

This 40 hour course of instruction meets the requirements of NFPA 1041, Standard for Fire Service Instructor Professional Qualifications, 2002 edition, specified at N.J.A.C. 5:73-5.2(c). Textbooks will not be provided.
Students will need to purchase the 9th edition of IFSTA Fire and Emergency Services Instructor manual. This class will meet every Thursday for five consecutive weeks.

This 48-hour course is designed build upon the foundation established by the Fire Officer 1 program. It is the second level in the series of fire leadership programs and is designed to meet the education and time requirements of N.F.P.A 1021, and N.J.A.C. 5:73-8 qualifications for Fire Officer 2 certification.
Course content will include a mixture of lectures, case studies, and classroom exercises designed to acquaint the student with the role of the company officer in a fire department and introduce advanced management and leadership theories, practices, and functions.
Topics covered include supervisory and management roles, incident management, human resources and community relations, advanced strategies and tactics, oral communications and presentation skills, and health and safety issues.
Fire Instructor Level 2

This course will give the student the knowledge and skills to meet the objectives of Level II Fire Service Instructor for NFPA std. 1041 Fire Service Professional Qualifications, and meet part of the requirements for the Level Il Fire Service Instructor for New Jersey State Certification.
Textbooks will not be provided. Students will need to purchase the 9th edition of IFSTA Fire and Emergency Services Instructor manual. This class will meet every Wednesday for six consecutive weeks.
