Union County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan

Protects against the impacts of natural and man-made emergencies and disasters on the people, property, environment and economy of Union County through mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery efforts.

The Division of Emergency Services protects against the impacts of natural and man-made emergencies and disasters on people, property, environment and economy of Union County through mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery efforts. It consists of the Bureau of Hazardous materials which responds to any emergency or event involving chemicals or unknown materials including biological, radiological or nuclear emergencies.

The Bureau of Domestic Preparedness which manages all Homeland Security Preparedness Grant Programs and Initiatives. A fire academy to provide comprehensive training for firefighters and an investigative task force to assistance local police and fire departments in determining the origin and cause of suspicious fires. Mutual aid resources such as Fire and EMS are coordinated through the Union County Regional Communications Center.
