Adopt-A-Trail Program
Union County’s newly revitalized Adopt-A-Trail program provides a meaningful opportunity for park enthusiasts to actively preserve and maintain the trails in our recreation grounds by becoming a Trail Steward. Hikers, equestrians, nature lovers, and other trail users are invited to participate in the next trail steward orientation to learn more.

Tracing its roots all the way back to 1941, Trailside is New Jersey’s very first natural history museum. It follows the National Park Service “trailside” model, aimed at helping residents understand — and help to conserve — our natural surroundings. Visit our Trailside Nature and Science Center to learn more or visit today and enjoy learning about the natural world in one of the most beautiful exhibits in New Jersey.
