Union County Sheriff’s K-9 Unit Receives Operational First Aid Kits Donation

Union County Sheriff Peter Corvelli thanks Linda Blick from the Tails of Hope Foundation and Toni Giordano Picerno and Rich Picerno for the donation of Canine Counterterrorism Operational First Aid Kits (COFAK) to the teams of the Union County’s Sheriff’s K-9 Search and Rescue Unit. They were joined by Undersheriff Jonathan Parham andofficers from the K-9 unit.

Toni and Rich, owners of Picerno Giordano Construction in Kenilworth, donated the COFAKs to the Sheriff’s Office through the Tails of Hope Foundation. Each of the Sheriff’s 5 K-9 teams received one of the kits which contains more than 100 items, including nerve gas and narcotic antidotes, combat gauze, tourniquets and a portable canine stretcher.
