the opening ceremony. The Mastodon bones on display were discovered in Lenape Park in the 1936 and are upwards of 25,000 years old. The Union County Trailside Nature & Science Center is located at 452 New Providence Road, Mountainside, NJ 07092 and is open from 12 noon to 5 p.m., 7 days a week. Admission is free.
