When visiting the trails, walking paths & greenways in Union County Parks…
Public health experts say trails and parks are a safer option when looking for recreation. Before heading out to a County park, be advised that all bathrooms are closed and please heed the following:
- Keep a distance of 6 feet between yourself and others at all times.
- Do not touch public services, such as benches or water fountains, unless necessary.
- Wash your hands thoroughly before and after outdoor recreation and after touching any public surfaces.
- If you are sick, stay home
Union County Parks will remain open for passive recreation, including roads, parking areas, trails, lakes, ponds and other open space areas. However, Trailside Nature & Science Center, Watchung Stable, Warinanco Sports Center and restrooms are closed until further notice to protect public health and safety. The parks cross run the gamut from small neighborhood parks to the nearly 2,200-acre Watchung Reservation, the crown jewel of the Parks system and home to Trailside Nature & Science Center, Watchung Stable and The Deserted Village of Feltville.
Whether you’re seeking a leisurely stroll, a hike in the mountains or along a lazy river, it’s all out there in your backyard, including a host of multi-use trails that are also open to bicyclists.
