This 8 hour course provides an opportunity for emergency management and response personnel to begin developing an Incident Command System (ICS) / Emergency Operations Center (EOC) interface for their communities. The course reviews ICS and EOC characteristics, responsibilities and functions and depends heavily on activities and group discussions to formulate an interface. 8 elective CEU’s will be awarded to qualified EMS personnel upon successful course completion.

ICS-200: Basic ICS for Initial Response
This 16 hour program addresses the need for an incident management system, an overview of the structure and expansibility of ICS, an understanding of the command skills needed by officers and firefighters to use ICS’ guidelines effectively, using scenario practices in its application. Appendixes including guidelines and resource information for setting up and implementing a departmental ICS will be provided. This course will meet the requirements of N.J.A.C. 5:75-6.1 for certification of Incident Management Level I. 8 elective CEU’s will be awarded to qualified EMS personnel upon successful course completion.
