The Union County Office on Women (OoW), established by the Board of County Commissioners in 2016, is the first county-level office of its kind.

Through analysis, research, and strategic partnerships, the OoW ensures that local resources provide meaningful support at every stage of life while celebrating the vital contributions women make to the social, economic, and cultural fabric of Union County.

Go Red is the American Heart Association’s national movement to end heart disease & stroke in women

The first Friday of every February marks the American Heart Association’s signature women’s initiative: Go Red for Women. Go Red raises awareness about heart disease and cardiovascular health in women and encourages women to take charge of their heart health while supporting the health of those they love.

This February, let’s raise awareness across Union County and help save lives.

  • Fact: Cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer of women, causing 1 in 3 deaths each year. It’s a third of our mothers, sisters, friends, neighbors, coworkers and more. It’s a third of the women we can’t bear to live without.
