Chairman Mirabella’s “Union County Means Business”
initiative brings together Union County’s business and
government leaders to talk about economic development. This
is a partnership of many organizations sharing one thing in
common: Union County business growth as a priority.
Over several years, we have worked to jump-start economic
development and help existing businesses both retain and
expand their labor force. We’ve helped employees upgrade
their skills to be more competitive and retrained our
workers for industries that are hiring. Further, we
recently welcomed a delegation from China with an interest
in investment and development opportunities. Now, the
Wenzhou Chinese Government will finance a new campus of Kean
University overseas. And there is more to come!
Union County, with more than half a million people, is the
gateway to the Metropolitan area and sits at the center of
the region’s transportation network including highways,
commercial and commuter rail lines, one of the nation’s
largest container shipping ports (Elizabeth Marine
Terminal/Port Newark) and one of the nation’s busiest
airports (Liberty International Airport in Newark). We have
both urban and suburban areas making us ideally suited to
boost economic growth for both large corporations and small
to medium sized businesses.
Please take a moment explore this, our business portal, and
learn about programs that Union County and our partners
offer to business. You will find opportunities in
financing, workforce development, public/private
partnerships and doing business in the 21st
century.
Union County does indeed mean business and we look forward
to moving ahead with you. |
