Welcome to the Hair-itage Workshop Series

Hair is more than style. It is history, culture, identity, creativity, and pride.
The Hair-itage Workshop Series is an educational and interactive program designed to celebrate culture, encourage self-expression, and promote awareness of the CROWN Act.
The CROWN Act is legislation that protects individuals from discrimination based on hair texture, natural hair, and protective or culturally significant hairstyles commonly associated with race. The law helps ensure that individuals are treated fairly in schools, workplaces, housing, and public spaces without being pressured to change, hide, or alter their natural hair.
Through art, conversation, history, and creative activities, this workshop series creates a safe and supportive space for participants to explore identity, confidence, culture, and personal experiences connected to hair.
Our goal is to encourage creativity, build self-confidence, and empower participants to embrace both their culture and their hair’s natural beauty with pride.
This workshop is open by invitation only through select host venues. If you are not affiliated with one of the participating groups and are interested in attending, please contact Judith Guest for additional information.
