Friends of Jazz is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to bring the joy and healing power of music to the community. Founded in 1998 by blind trumpeter, Robert Young, the Friends of Jazz have done over 90 performances and reached over 10,000 people.
Soumas H.E.R.I.T.A.G.E., Plainfield, provides affordable lesson packages to accommodate you or your family member’s interests, talents and goals. Teachers are dedicated to the growth and music education of beginning and advanced students. Instruction includes 1/2 hour and full hour weekly private lessons on: piano, voice, woodwinds, brass, strings and percussion.

Judith G. Wharton Music Center (formerly the Suburban Community Music Center). Summit Symphony Orchestra was formed in 1938 by the Summit Board of Recreation with the dual purpose of (1) providing an arena for qualified non-professional musicians to read and perform orchestral music, and (2) presenting orchestral concerts, free of charge, to residents of Summit and the surrounding areas. It has been performing in Summit every year since.
