
The Union County Board of County Commissioners invites all residents to enjoy the last concert in the Summer Arts Festival series: an afternoon of family-friendly entertainment from Zabo Circus, Michael & the Rockness Monsters, and Joanie Leeds on August 23rd in Oak Ridge Park, from 12:00pm – 4:00pm.
“Our Summer Arts Festival is one of the highlights of the season, and we’re excited to close out this year’s series with an afternoon of music, laughter, and community that everyone can enjoy, from our youngest residents to our oldest,” said Union County Commissioner Lourdes M. Leon. “This event is truly for everyone. There will be something there to spark joy for every member of the family.”
Zabo Circus, led by 4th-generation circus legend Zabo, delivers a high-energy, one-ring show featuring world-class performers from diverse backgrounds. Zabo creates a show that thrills audiences of all ages with its modern twist on the classic American circus. This family-friendly performance is designed to captivate and amaze audiences of all ages.
Nationally celebrated for their interactive performances, Michael & the Rockness Monsters bring communities together with catchy and heartfelt songs that blend humor and positivity. As part of Rockness Music, a music program for children, they have been able to spread their positive message with hundreds of schools and thousands of children through seven albums, the most recent earning the acclaim of Sirius/XM.
Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Joanie Leeds is set to bring her unique fusion of rock and activism to the stage. For the past 15 years, Joanie has brought her folk-rock favorites to family audiences, blending her background as an early childhood music educator with a degree in Musical Theater. The result is an engaging mix of music and storytelling that captivate audiences of all ages.
Performances will begin at 12:00pm on Saturday, August 23 in Oak Ridge Park in Clark. There will be hayrides, inflatable attractions and activities for children of all ages. Food trucks and ice cream will also be onsite for purchase. In the event of rain, the concert will be held at the Union County Performing Arts Center, located at 1601 Irving Street, Rahway. The Summer Arts Festival is free to attend.
