Monofilament Fishing Line

Union County anglers have a convenient way to safely dispose of used monofilament fishing line. Specially designed “Reel in and Recycle” bins are located at several popular fishing spots throughout the County parks system. These PVC bins are part of an effort to reduce litter in local waterways and protect local wildlife.

They are exclusively designed for monofilament fishing line; do not use them to dispose of other materials, such as bottles, hooks, or trash. If, for some reason, a bin is not available at your chosen fishing location, please take the fishing line home in a secure container and dispose from home. Please see the map below to find all current bin locations.
