- You must be a resident of the town to participate in the following municipally run e-waste programs:
- Berkeley Heights – Berkeley Heights residents can bring their e-waste to the Berkeley Heights DPW yard (101 Berkeley Avenue), ONLY on the first and third Saturday of the month from 9 am-noon. The township no longer accepts electronics during regular Monday-Friday business hours. *Collection events are subject to change due to inclement weather*
- Clark – Residents can drop off e-waste at the DPW garages behind Clark PD on the last Saturday of the month from 9 am – 1 pm, except holiday weekends.
- Cranford – Residents can bring electronic waste to the Cranford Conservation Center (210 Birchwood Avenue) anytime the center is open. Please check the website for exact days and hours of operation.
- Elizabeth – Elizabeth residents can bring electronic waste to the Elizabeth Recycling Center (523 Trenton Avenue) Monday- Friday 8 am – 6 pm; Saturday and Sunday 8 am – 4 pm.
- Fanwood – Fanwood residents ONLY may drop off covered electronics at the Recycling Center on designated days from 8 am – 11 am. Please refer to the recycling schedule mailed to each residence or visit the borough website for the Recycling Center’s days and hours of operation. *Physical brochures are available at Borough Hall (75 N. Martine Avenue) Monday-Thursday from 8 am – 4 pm and Fridays from 8 am – noon during the summer*
- Hillside – Hillside residents can drop off e-waste at the Hillside Public Works Yard located at 274 Hillside Avenue (rear building of the Community Center/William H. Buie Center) Monday – Friday 7:30 am – 3:30 pm
- Kenilworth – Kenilworth residents can drop off e-waste at 401 Sheridan Avenue (DPW yard access on North 14th Street at the corner of Sheridan Ave) Fridays 7 am – 2:30 pm, and on the second Saturday of the month from 7:30 am – noon. *Schedule is subject to change without notice*
- Linden – Linden residents can drop off e-waste at the Recycling Center (2 Donaldson Place) Monday-Friday, 7 am – 2:30 pm; Saturday, 8 am – 2 pm.
- Plainfield – Plainfield residents can drop off e-waste at the Transfer Station (95 Rock Avenue) Monday-Friday from 7 am – 2:45 pm. The transfer station is not open every Saturday, so residents are asked to call 908-226-2518 ext. 227, Monday – Friday, to confirm Saturday availability.
- Rahway – Rahway has curbside collection for electronics. Residents must call 732-827-2159 to schedule an appointment.
- Roselle – Roselle residents can drop off e-waste at the Roselle DPW Yard (1121 Chandler Avenue) Monday-Friday from 5:30 am – 1:30 pm.
- Roselle Park – The Borough no longer accepts e-waste drop-offs at the Department of Public Works. However, FREE e-waste pickups can be scheduled by residents by calling the Public Works office at 908-245-7676.
- Scotch Plains – Scotch Plains residents can drop off e-waste at the Scotch Plains DPW (2445 Plainfield Avenue) on Thursdays between 7 am – 2 pm, except on holidays.
- Springfield – Springfield residents can drop off e-waste at the Residential Recycling Convenience Center/Springfield Municipal Pool (44 Morrison Rd, Springfield) Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7:30 am – 11:30 am; Open all year (residents only).
- Summit – Summit has a curbside collection program for electronics. Call Summit DPW for more information.
- Union – Residents can drop off e-waste at the township’s Recycling Convenience Center (1 Swanstrom Pl) Monday-Friday from 8:30 am – 4 pm.
- New Providence – New Providence residents can drop off e-waste at the DPW (29 Park Place) on the first and third Saturday from 9 am – 1 pm
- Westfield – Residents can bring electronic waste to the Westfield Conservation Center (1300 Lamberts Mill Road) anytime the Center is open. Check the website for exact days and hours of operation. Permits are not required to drop off recyclable materials.
- Residents can also contact these local stores to inquire about recycling opportunities for covered and uncovered items. Best Buy | Staples
