County Clerk Advises College Students and Other Voters on Vote-By-Mail

Union County, NJ – Union County Clerk Joanne Rajoppi reminds all voters, especially college students impacted by school closures, to update their Vote-by-Mail address if they have moved in recent weeks.

“School closings have forced students to move unexpectedly during the COVID-19 outbreak, and as a result their Vote-by-Mail ballots could get side-tracked to a previous address,” said Ms. Rajoppi. “Keeping your address up to date is the best way to ensure that your voice is heard on Election Day.”

Voters can request a change of address for their Vote-By-Mail ballot by sending an email to the County Clerk’s Elections Division at ucvote@ucnj.org. The email must include their full name, their previous address, and the address where they currently reside.

Under New Jersey state law, any voter can use a Vote-by-Mail ballot. There is no requirement to provide a reason.

Continuing Vote-by-Mail users will receive their ballots automatically. New users can download an application for a Vote-by-Mail ballot online at the County Clerk’s elections website, unioncountyvotes.com.

To request a Vote-by-Mail application by mail, email the Elections Division at ucvote@ucnj.org or call 908-527-4996.

For more information about all County Clerk programs and services, including service modifications during the COVID-19 outbreak, visit online at ucnj.org/county-clerk or call 908-527-4787.

Union County Clerk Recommends E-Filing Services

Union County, NJ – As the COVID-19 coronavirus continues to spread in New Jersey, Union County Clerk Joanne Rajoppi urges frequent land record submitters to use available e-filing services instead of filing documents in person, by mail, or by messenger service.

Law firms, banks, title companies and other businesses that frequently file deeds, mortgages and other documents can use an e-filing service.

The recent outbreak of COVID-19 has made it necessary to prepare and plan for a variety of different outcomes,” said Ms. Rajoppi. “In light of this I strongly urge frequent submitters to consider contracting with one of the two e-filing vendors who serve this office, to ensure the timely recording of your documents.”

The following E-File vendors are used by the County Clerk:

CSC: Corporation Service Company
