While the heaviest rains have completed falling, the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders urge residents in the western portion of Union County to take precaution if traveling tonight. The rains have caused localized flooding and temporary closures of some roads and portions of highways,including Routes 22 and 78.
Several inches of rain have fallen and impacts are reported to be heaviest in the following municipalities: Plainfield, Summit, New Providence, Mountainside, Scotch Plains, Fanwood, Westfield, parts of Springfield and Clark, Rahway.
