Detective Bureau

The fundamental function of the Union County Police Detective Bureau is to conduct investigations relative to major crimes and serious incidents. The essential goal of the Bureau is to identify and arrest perpetrators and to recover stolen property. Union County Police Officers in our Patrol Division are generally given the initial responsibility for preliminary field investigations. The follow-up investigative efforts are carried out by Union County Police Detectives from our Investigation Division. Various types of confidential and personnel investigations are also conducted by our County Police Investigation Division.

The experience, skill, and investigative abilities of our Investigative personnel have resulted in a consistent investigative clearance rate of 80%.
